MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk claimed a 5-4 shootout victory over the visiting Spartak Moscow in the KHL action on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
Trailing 0-2 in the first period, Minsk managed to hit back. Three goals in four minutes turned the game around. Alexander Kitarov, Andrei Stepanov and Kristian Khenkel gave Dinamo the lead. Spartak tied it up with a power play goal from Alexander Khokhlachov a second before the hooter.
The teams traded goals in the third. Jack Skille converted a power play to make it 4-3 for Dinamo; Alexei Pepelyayev levelled with two minutes left to play. After a goalless overtime, Yegor Sharangovich claimed the winner.
“We are well aware of what to expect from Spartak. It is great we have managed to fight back after 0-2 on the scoreboard. A comeback victory is important for the Minsk team,” Dinamo Minsk head coach Gordie Dwyer told the media after the game.
The Bisons will next play against Severstal Cherepovets on 4 November.
