MOGILEV, 27 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian city of Mogilev will host the Days of Polish Cinema on 12 through 15 November, BelTA learned from the Mogilev film distribution company Kinovideoprokat.
Belarusian movie enthusiasts will be offered a retrospective of films by Polish director Krzysztof Krauze. He is also famous as a scriptwriter, cameraman, actor, and intellectual. Krzysztof Krauze is one of the most renowned modern Polish directors of auteur films. He holds many prizes of Polish and international festivals for his works “The Debt”, “My Nikifor”, “Papusza”, and “Savior Square”.
All the abovementioned films will be screened at the cinema house Rodina over the four days of the cultural project. Admission to the screenings will be by invitation tickets. “We are confident that people will like these films, as Krzysztof Krauze’s works are very emotional. They fully immerse the audience into their atmosphere,” the organizers of the projects noted. The Days of Polish Cinema will open on 12 October with the film “Papusza”. The protagonist is Bronislawa Wajs commonly known by her Romani name Papusza. She moved to Romania when she was a young woman and lived a long life. In the film, Papusza speaks about how she managed to survive during World War Two.
The Days of Polish Cinema will be held in Mogilev with the support of the Polish Institute in Minsk.
