MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – The Days of Belarusian Culture in France drew some 150,000 people, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
As many as 36 cultural events were organized with the participation of the Belarusian Embassy in 37 French cities and towns. The program of the Days of Culture featured concerts by the Belarusian Armed Forces Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, the Grodno Capella, the dance company Feyeria from Minsk, and the folk band Tsernitsa. Besides, the troupe of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater gave performances as part of their tour in France.
Among the organizers of the Days of Belarusian Culture also were the National Art Museum of Belarus, the National History Museum of Belarus, the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, the Mir Castle Museum, the National Center for Contemporary Arts, the Vitebsk Center of Contemporary Art, the Belarusian State Academy of Music, and other institutions.
In 2015, Belarus was represented at the Cannes Festival for the fifth time. Besides, the country presented its pavilion at the prestigious art exhibition at the Grand Palais des Champs-Elysees in Paris. Belarusian artist Valentina Shoba and sculptor Sergei Portenkov displayed their works at the exhibition and won the Prix Taylor (Taylor Prize).
The closing ceremony of the Days of Belarusian Culture in France was held in Paris on 17 December. The event was attended by diplomats, French businessmen, and members of the public.
