MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) - Canadian coach Dave Lewis will continue his work with the Belarusian national ice hockey team. The information was announced at a press conference to review the results of the ice hockey season on 20 May, BelTA informs.
“A one-year contract was concluded with Dave Lewis ahead of the 2015 IIHF World Championship. The Canadian specialist asked for this himself and expressed intention to discuss further cooperation after the tournament. We are ready to offer him a new contract. Dave Lewis has agreed on our terms and we plan to sign a three-year agreement. Dave Lewis is an experienced specialist and helped a lot to psychologically recover from the defeat to Team Russia,” Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Igor Rachkovsky said.
Under Dave Lewis’ tutelage Team Belarus finished 7th at the 79th edition of the IIHF World Championship in the Czech Republic.
