MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won two medals at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland, BelTA has learned.
Belarus’ Daria Borisevich finished third in the 1,500m event with her season’s best of 4:06.50. Winnie Nanyondo of Uganda won the event in 4:06.21. Silver went to Fantu Worku Taye of Ethiopia (4:06.27). Daria Borisevich has qualified for the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Belarusian shot putter Aliona Dubitskaya claimed bronze throwing 18.48m in her best attempt in Turku.
In the triple jump event Irina Vaskovskaya placed fourth with the result of 13.84m. Violetta Skvortsova finished sixth with 13.47m. Gabriela Petrova of Bulgaria won the event with 14.29m.
Belarusian hammer thrower Anna Malyshchik placed ninth with the result of 68.19m.
