Dancers from 6 countries to take part in Ballet Summer at Bolshoi gala in Minsk

MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – A gala concert of the 6th edition of the Ballet Summer at the Bolshoi international festival will star performers from six countries, BelTA learned from the senior editor of the press center of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Yelena Balabanovich.

The choreographic marathon will kick off with the Dance Dance Dance project on 21 June. The project will feature Merited Artists of Russia Igor Kolb, Danila Korsuntsev and Evgeny Ivanchenko from Mariinsky Theater. On 23-24 June the audience will see Radu Poklitaru’s Kyiv Modern Ballet. On 23 June the famous choreographer will present his interpretation of the Sleeping Beauty ballet. The second evening will feature Up the River ballet to the music of Alexander Rodin and The Long Christmas Dinner ballet to the music of Antonio Vivaldi.

On 25 June the audience will see the premiere of this season – Anastasia ballet by Yuri Troyan. Irina Yeromkina will be the lead dancer, while Andrei Galanov will be the conductor.

On 26 June the Bolshoi will show Piotr Tchaikovsky’s legendary ballet Swan Lake with Erika Mikirticheva as Odette/Odile and Denis Dmitriev as Siegfried. The dancers represent the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre. The ballet will be conducted by Oleg Lesun. 

On 27 June the Bolshoi will stage Sergey Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet under the baton of Vyacheslav Chernukho-Volich with Lyudmila Khitrova and Oleg Yeromkin as lead dancers.

The dancing marathon will wrap up with a gala concert starring international stars, including Natalia Matsak and Sergei Krivokon from Ukraine, Matthew Golding from Canada, Ksenia Ovsyanick from the UK, Denis Vieira from Brazil, Anastasia Limenko, Sergei Manuylov  and Ivan Vasiliev from Russia and Denis Klimuk from Belarus. Ivan Kostyakhin will be the conductor.
