MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Cosmonauts and astronauts from 17 countries will meet with Belarusian school pupils and students on 12 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Community Day is scheduled for 12 September as part of the 31st Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers program. Cosmonauts and astronauts will visit Belarusian schools, universities (Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian State Medical University), companies, institutes of the National Academy of Sciences, the Minsk Suvorov Military School, the Military Academy, the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation. School students will come from Belarusian regions to meet with space explorers. The goal of the event is to popularize space matters, increase interest in the profession and its prestige.
The 31st Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers is taking place in Minsk on 9-15 September. Taking part in the forum are over 80 cosmonauts and astronauts from 17 countries. The theme of the congress is Creating the Future of Space.
The ASE is an international not-for-profit organization created in 1985 to share the best practices in the area of manned space flights. Every year the ASE planetary congress gathers cosmonauts and astronauts as well as representatives of research institutions and national space agencies.
