TASHKENT, 25 September (BelTA)- The development of cooperation with the leading Belarusian universities in basic science is very important for Huawei, Victor Zhang, Senior Vice President of the large Chinese corporation, said during the Central Asian Forum “Innovation Day” in Tashkent on 25 September, BelTA has learned.
Victor Zhang emphasized that Huawei constantly invests in young talents, their development and education. The company sends students, including from Belarus, to study in China every year. Huawei invests significant resources in basic innovation developments. The company earmarks approximately 10-15% of its revenue for these purposes. For example, such investments amounted to $13.2 billion last year. First of all, they go into information and communication technologies, new materials. Cooperation with foreign partners plays an important role. "We are facing big challenges and opportunities in the new technologies industry. We must work together to promote innovations," Victor Zhang said.
The Central Asian Forum “Innovation Day” organized by the Development Strategy Center jointly with Huawei has brought together more than 200 representatives of various sectors of the ICT industry, higher education institutions, media, and experts from 13 countries.
