MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – There is a suggestion to devise combined tours across the territories eligible to the ten-day visa-free entry program, Chairman of the Board of the Republican Union of Tourist Industry Filipp Guly told the media, BelTA has learned.

Filipp Guly noted that the launch of the ten-day visa-free stay of foreign citizens in certain areas of Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast will lead to a significant increase in the number of tourists. “It is very important that we provide a possibility for foreign travelers to visit our country via Grodno and Brest. With the start of the season, in the spring and summer, we will begin working actively on integrating these territories so that tourists from Scandinavia, the Baltic states can enter our country through Grodno and depart from Brest,” he said.

It is expected that the integration of these territories will create more excursion and tourism opportunities. The regions will come up with tourism products, will do cross-marketing, consolidate resources to promote services to target and potential markets.

According to Filipp Guly, that thanks to the ten-day visa-free entry program Belarus will be able to offer travel products that are not available within the framework of the five-day visa-free stay. First and foremost, these are tours from 7 to 10 days. The choice of such tours is really wide. It can be holidays, for example, in health resorts, and five days is clearly not enough for this. Popular among Europeans are the combination of tours across the country and holidays in the nature,” he said and noted an increase in the number of travel companies in Grodno Oblast.

Filipp Guly noted that the ten-day visa-free program primarily targets tourists, the people who purchase a tour package, which includes guided tours, visits to castles, museums, camping, agricultural tourism farms, etc. “On the one hand, it is a carte blanche for regional development. On the other hand, it is responsibility. The regions are expected to offer high-quality tourist services,” he said.
