MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – The City and Books 2019 festival will bring together book lovers and intellectuals on 19-20 April. The festival program features over 100 events and activities that will take place in the Scientific Library of Belarusian National Technical University in Minsk, BelTA learned from the organizers of the festival.
The festival will have five thematic venues: a children’s venue, a youth venue, an experts’ venue, a recital venue and an exposition of handmade characters of contemporary books Smiley Creatures. The festival will be centered around topics like bilingual reading, book illustrations, book reviews and blogging, literary excursions.
There will also be workshops and master classes for professionals and amateurs. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet with authors and experts in an informal setting over a cup of tea. A two-day literature quiz will be another draw of the festival. Attending the festival will be authors from Ukraine and Russia, including a famous writer, author of the Chasodei series Natalia Shcherba, book illustrator Anton Lomayev and Editor-in-Chief of the well-known Russian publication Gorky Konstantin Milchin.
