MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – The ISU European Speed Skating Championships that will take place in Minsk on 8-10 January will become a Christmas celebration, BelTA learned from Alexei Khatylev, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Speed Skaters, during a press conference on 6 January.
Alexei Khatylev said: “Since the championships will take place during the days of Christmas celebrations, fan zones will be opened on every day of the championships. All of those, who will come to watch the speed skaters, will be treated to a major festive show for the entire family including dancing and singing contests, an alternative music concert, and roller skating.”
In between races spectators will be able to appreciate Belarusian cuisine and hot aromatic tea. They will be able to take part in prize draws and listen to colorful Belarusian music.
The ISU European Speed Skating Championships will take place in the cultural and sport complex Minsk Arena. It will be the first time the sport forum will be organized in Belarus. The prestigious tournament will gather the best speed skaters and fans from 17 countries, including Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Norway, Russia, and Czechia.
Belarus will be represented by the well-known athletes Marina Zuyeva, Tatiana Mikhailova, and Vitaly Mikhailov.
