GRODNO, 29 May (BelTA) – Artists of China’s Sichuan Opera and China’s Chengdu Culture and Art School will make a tour to Grodno, BelTA learned from Alexander Versotsky, Head of the Department for Ideology, Culture, and Youth Affairs of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

According to him, the Chinese art teams will perform in the Grodno Oblast Drama Theater in late June 2017. Apart from these performances, the Chinese side will hold an exhibition to showcase China’s intangible heritage and help Belarusians learn more about the best achievements of the Chinese culture and art.

The Grodno authorities also plan to host a Day of Chinese Cinema. At the moment the Chinese Embassy in Belarus is busy reviewing this idea and the ways to implement it.

Grodno has obtained the status of the Belarusian Culture Gate in the Silk Road project in January 2017 when a relevant agreement was reached at the international forum Silk Road EXPO in China’s Gansu province. In January 2017 the State Song and Dance Theater of Gansu Province gave a full house concert in Grodno and became the first Chinese company to have a big performance in the city. The Honored Team of Belarus, the Grodno Song, Music and Dance Company Belye Rosy went on a tour to China.
