MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – The Chinese culture center officially opened in Minsk on 21 December ahead of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Belarusian-Chinese diplomatic relations, BelTA has learned.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming emphasized the importance of strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries as he attended the ceremony. He recalled that the intergovernmental agreement on mutual establishment of culture centers was signed during the visit of China President Xi Jinping to Minsk in May 2015.The countries managed to implement the agreement and set up a center of Chinese culture over a relatively short period of time.
Ambassador Cui Qiming pointed out that the mutual political trust between Belarus and China is growing stronger. He noted that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has reached a new development stage and now sets an example of friendly relations.
The Chinese diplomat stressed the important role of the good friendly relations between the leaders, Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping, that contribute to the development of all-round cooperation between Belarus and China.
The head of the Chinese diplomatic mission also emphasized the importance of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative and Belarus’ participation in it. Ambassador Cui Qiming said that the bilateral cultural ties have grown stronger. The active exchange of exhibitions and cultural delegations attests to this.
The Chinese diplomat expressed confidence that the Chinese culture center in Minsk will be a good venue for new projects to promote the friendship between the Belarusian and Chinese people.
