MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – A Chinese civil engineering company has taken steps to support the development of ice hockey for children and teenagers in Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Association told BelTA.
According to the source, CITIC Construction Company, one of China’s largest civil engineering companies, donated $50,000 to support ice hockey for children and teenagers in Belarus.
The money will be used to improve the physical infrastructure of sport institutions for children and teenagers. CCTV systems will be installed to evaluate the quality of the education and training process in ice hockey schools.
Giving support to Belarusian ice hockey is not the first time the Chinese company has invested in the social sphere. In 2015 the company sponsored an amateur football tournament in the Belarusian city of Zhodino. In July 2016 the Chinese mechanical engineering company SINOMACH, China CAMC Engineering Company (CAMCE), and China Merchants Group donated $250,000 to Minsk Oblast for the sake of helping the region to overcome consequences of a major storm.
