MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Delegations from Saint Petersburg, Chisinau, and Tbilisi will take part in a New Year charity ball in Minsk, Nadezhda Velikaya, the deputy head of the education and ideology department of the education committee at the Minsk City Hall, told journalists on 8 December, BelTA has learned.
The Minsk New Year Charity Ball will be held in the Belarusian State Circus on 28 December. Some 1,500 children living in the Belarusian capital have been invited to attend the event held under the patronage of the mayor.
“This year, attending the ball will be delegations from Chisinau, Tbilisi, and Saint Petersburg. Last year we already welcomed children from Chisinau. As for Tbilisi and Saint Petersburg, their young residents will come for the first time,” Nadezhda Velikaya noted. She added that the delegations will include school students and representatives of municipal authorities.
It is also expected that the New Year charity event to be held at the Palace of the Republic on 24 December will be attended by 1,570 kids, including school students from Vilnius and Riga.
