Charter flights to connect Brest with resorts in five countries during holiday season

BREST, 18 February (BelTA) – Charter flights from the Brest airport will connect the Belarusian city with sea resorts of five other countries this year, BelTA learned from Deputy Head of the Brest branch of the state enterprise Belaeronavigatsia Aleksandr Dokuchits.

Charter flights fly from Brest to Egypt all the year round. Aircraft leave Brest for Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh six times per month. However, the frequency of the flights will be doubled starting April. The tours are designed to last for seven nights and 11 nights. Flights from Brest to Enfidha, Tunisia and to Antalya, Turkey will become available as from May. Flights to the Mediterranean coast of Turkey will stay available till mid-September while flights to Africa will stay available till the end of September. Apart from that, holidaymakers will be able to take flights from Brest to Burgas, Bulgaria and to Tivat, Montenegro from June through September.

According to the source, the flight schedule for the season is still in development. Flights to all the destinations are being reconciled.

Reconstruction continues in the Brest airport. Specialists are about to finish installing a new light signal system on the runway and the apron. The facilities are earmarked for commissioning in March. Further renewal of the equipment and systems in the airport is under consideration.

The Brest airport can handle aircraft with the max takeoff weight of 191 tonnes and the wingspan of up to 51.9m. It is designed to process 400 passengers per hour. The airport has coin locker rooms, a first aid station, a café, a hotel for 49 guests, and a parking lot.
