MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – The development of the campsite network in Belarus will bring more tourists into the country during the 2019 European Games, BelTA learned from Vladimir Rudoi, Chairman of the Union of Campsites of Belarus.
In his words, in neighboring Poland, for instance, thousands of tourists stay at campsites during major cultural and sport events. “This kind of recreation is convenient and practical. A campsite can recoup its cost and even generate profits within one season,” noted the official.
Vladimir Rudoi said that the 2019 European Games in Minsk can provide a serious incentive to the development of the caravanning movement. This is why it is necessary to increase the number of campsites. In particular, the possibility of building a campsite in the village of Volkovichi near Minsk is under consideration. “We intend to build a festival site for 20,000 people there with all the amenities, communications, and engineering infrastructure. Such a site to where people can drive their own cars will generate revenues,” Vladimir Rudoi is convinced.
