MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) - One of the squares of Budapest will be named in honor of Minsk, the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary said in it Twitter account, BelTA has learned.
“We welcome yesterday’s decision of the Budapest city council to name after Minsk a square near our Embassy. Logical continuation of cooperation between two capitals, started in 2016. Great step in preparation of the Days of Minsk scheduled for April this year,” the embassy said in its Twitter account.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Hungary were established on 12 February 1992. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus was inaugurated in January 2000, the Hungarian Embassy in Minsk was opened in December 2007.
