BREST, 22 May (BelTA) – The Brest Half Marathon will take place on 8 September. This event will be held in Brest for the second time, BelTA learned from head of the sports and tourism division of the Brest City Council Olesya Okrug.
The starting line will be located at the entrance to the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. The race will have three courses - 6.5km, 10.5km and 21km.
Over 100 runners from Belarus have already registered for the half marathon. Applications were also received from European countries, Kenya and India. “We are in talks with the Embassy of Hungary in Belarus that is interested in promoting outdoor tourism. A delegation of this country is expected to take part in the race, too,” Olesya Okrug said.
Each racer will receive an exclusive medal, a personalized T-shirt, a bib number and souvenirs from sponsors. There will be courses for children, too. Various entertainment venues will work during the event.
