MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko awarded Nikolai Bordyuzha a CSTO honorary distinction first class at the summit in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The award marks the recognition of Nikolai Bordyuzha’s significant contribution towards the strengthening of collective security, countering modern threats and challenges, development of cooperation between the CSTO member states.
The Belarusian head of state emphasized that this award is presented for the first time in the history of the organization. “I must say that this man is an example and role model for future secretaries. Nikolai Nikolayevich was in charge of the organization for more than 13 years and rightfully deserves this award,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
Nikolai Bordyuzha is a Russian military commander and statesman. He held the post of the CSTO Secretary General from April 2003 to January 2017.
