MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater attracted the largest number of theatergoers in Belarus in 2015, reads Belarus in Figures review published on the website of the National Statistics Committee, BelTA has learned.
Latest statistics show that Bolshoi’s performances drew an aggregate audience of 244,800 last year.
The Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater ranks second with 144,200 theatergoers, followed by the Maxim Gorky National Academic Drama Theater with an estimated total of 81,000 spectators.
All in all, there are 28 theaters in Belarus. The year of 2015 saw almost 1.8 million of theater attendances, down by 27,000 from 2014.
