BelTA’s Victory Day project available in videos

BelTA’s Victory Day project available in videos

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – BelTA’s project Destinies Folded in Triangle timed to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is now available in videos. The videos have been uploaded at BelTA’s website, social network accounts, and YouTube channel and will be broadcast on screens in public transport, shopping malls, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.

The internet project Destinies Folded in Triangle is being implemented in association with the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History and makes part of the large-scale project The Chronicles of the Victory. The project features personal correspondence of participants of the Great Patriotic War. The museum holds over 2,300 war-time letters: soldiers' letters folded into a triangular shape, postcards and cards sent from the front line.

The project is a wide reaching survey of people who went through the war, the fallen and the survivors, those who made the papers and ordinary people. In their letters, soldiers described various aspects of the war: hardships of their daily routine, injuries, and the joy of victories. The project is updated weekly and is set to wrap up soon. Each issue is illustrated by artist and designer Aleksandr Lapin. The materials of the project have been used to create the videos. Plans are also in place to arrange an exhibition featuring the materials that will also be available online.
Every week BelTA also publishes online archive photos that depict various aspects of the Great Patriotic War and, most importantly, the destinies of its participants.
