MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Four projects developed by the Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) became winners of the 2018 TIBO Internet Award, BelTA reports from the awarding ceremony.
Belarus’ best Internet resources competed in 10 nominations this year. Two BelTA’s projects made it to the top three in the category of Internet resources of central government agencies. Those are the website of the Investigative Committee (second place) and the website of the Taxes and Duties Ministry (third place).
As to Internet resources of municipal, regional and district authorities, the first prize went to the official website of the Ivie District Executive Committee (BelTA’s project). Another BelTA’s development – the website of the Myadel District Executive Committee – came second. Apart from that, a special diploma of the jury in this nomination went to the website of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee (BelTA’s project).
TIBO Internet Award is the award of the organizing committee of the TIBO expo and is granted to network resources of the national segment of the Internet for significant social, cultural, technological and artistic achievements in the field of information, culture, art and education.
Over 7,000 Internet resources have taken part in the contest since 2003. The major goals of the award are to boost the development of the Belarusian segment of the Internet, introduce new information technologies and celebrate the best achievements of the Belarusian segment of the global network.
This year TIBO Internet Award turns 16. TIBO Forum is taking place in Minsk on 14-18 May.
