BREST, 3 August (BelTA) – The 20th edition of the international theater festival Belaya Vezha (White Tower) will bring together winners of the previous forums in Brest on 11-19 September, BelTA informs.
Attending the forum will be theaters from 15 countries, including from Bulgaria, Germany, Israel, Tajikistan, Tunis, and the Czech Republic. The audience will see 25 drama, puppet, musical, street and plastic plays. Productions will be held in the Russian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, English, Lithuanian, Tunisian, Ukrainian languages. Artists will perform at the Brest Academic Drama Theater, the oblast public and cultural center, the youth creativity center, the Brest Puppet Theater and in Lenina Square.
Among those invited to attend the festival are well-known theater critics from Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Estonia.
The festival playbill will mainly consist of Belarusian and foreign world classic productions. Brest residents will see productions based on the literary works of Adam Mickiewicz, Alexander Pushkin, Jean-Baptiste Moliere, William Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll. Thus, the hosts of the international forum – actors of the Brest Academic Drama Theater, will present their production of Adam Mickiewicz’s Dziady. It is a result of the joint work of the Brest theater and a theater company from Poland.
The organizers of the 20th international theater festival Belaya Vezha is the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, the Brest Oblast Academic Drama Theater.
