MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – In summer 2015 the Belarusian air carrier Belavia intends to offer charter flights to Bulgaria, Greece, Egypt, and Turkey from every oblast capital of Belarus, BelTA learned from Belavia’s Director General Anatoly Gusarov on 4 February.
“Today we can say that in summer we are going to offer flights from all the oblast capitals of Belarus to Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece and Egypt,” noted Anatoly Gusarov. The executive stressed that it is more profitable for the company to offer flights from Minsk because crews have to be delivered at an expense to the oblast capitals to make the flights possible. “But we understand that in the oblast airports we can offer a large choice of services to residents of various regions of our country,” stated Anatoly Gusarov.
In his words, the experience of previous years indicates that quite many passengers from neighboring countries arrive in oblast capitals of Belarus in order to use Belavia’s charter flights to reach foreign resorts.
Belavia is Belarus’ largest passenger air carrier and a major cargo carrier. In 2014 the company’s fleet grew larger with five aircraft. In late January 2014 the company started working as a public joint-stock company. Based in the National Airport Minsk, it offers regular flights to 45 destinations in 27 countries in Europe, the CIS, and Asia. In 2014 Belavia carried over 1.970 million passengers and 2,207 tonnes of cargoes and mail, respectively 22.3% up and 9.6% up from 2013.
