MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – In summer 2016 the Belarusian air carrier Belavia plans to launch a regular flight from Minsk to Palanga (Lithuania), BelTA learned from Olga Gerasenko, the head of advertising and communications at Belavia.
"We are planning to start flying to Palanga on 17 June 2016. The flight will be operated on a regular basis once a week on Sundays,” she noted.
She noted that tickets for the new flight are not on sale yet. "We plan to start sales on 15 January. By then we will determine the costs," Olga Gerasenko noted. The airline plans to sell 60% of tickets for the Minsk-Palanga flight to travel companies, she added.
Belavia is the largest air carrier in Belarus by the number of passengers and cargoes it transports. In January 2014 the Belarusian airline acquired a legal status of an open joint stock company. Belavia operates 27 aircraft, and offers regulars flights to 46 destinations in Europe and Asia. Belavia joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1997 and the European Regions Airline Association (ERAA) in 2010. In January-September 2015 Belavia's passenger traffic increased by 4% over the same period last year.
