MOSCOW, 3 February (BelTA) – The exhibition Беларусы.by will open in the Russian Ethnographic Museum in Saint Petersburg on 6 February. The exhibition has been organized by the National History Museum of Belarus, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.
The exhibition will focus on peculiarities of material culture, which are characteristic for the national identification of Belarusians. Achievements of the national history, traditions, material and spiritual culture of Belarus will be highlighted using ethnographic research data as an example. The researches were carried out by personnel of the museum in the 20th century. The exhibition will be dominated by folk costumes as the most vivid part of the material and cultural legacy of the Belarusian nation in addition to folk craft products: weaving, embroidery, lacemaking, woodcarving, and pottery ones.
The National History Museum of Belarus and the Russian Ethnographic Museum have been in tight cooperation for over five years already. The exhibition Беларусы.by will be the third joint project.
The exhibition will stay open in Saint Petersburg till 22 March.
