MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestlers won three bronze medals at the Grand Prix of Germany in Dortmund, BelTA has learned.
Belarus’ Greco-Roman wrestler Maksim Kazharsky defeated Viktor Petryk from Ukraine in the 60kg bronze medal event. In the 63k weight category Belarus’ Soslan Daurov celebrated a victory over the Hungarian wrestler. Belarus’ Pavel Lyakh reached the semifinal to fall to Frank Stabler from Germany there. In the repechage he defeated Robert Fritsch of Hungary.
Rio Olympics bronze medalist Javid Hamzatov lost the 97kg bronze medal bout to Giorgi Melia from Georgia.
The 2018 World Wrestling Championships are due in Budapest on 20-28 October.
