MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian exhibition “The war through the eyes of the frontline painter Sergei Katkov” opened in Beijing on 3 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in China.
The Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression is playing host to the exposition of the Belarusian Great Patriotic War Museum. Sergei Katkov is a renowned Belarusian artist, a teacher who was a press photographer and a painter on the Third Belarusian Front during the Great Patriotic War. He fought his way to Konigsberg and was transferred to Manchuria in 1945. Sergei Katkov created many frontline sketches and reporting pictures including about the life of China during the war.
The exhibition at the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression will stay open until 3 December.
