MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – A concert of classical music by Belarusian violinist Yulia Lebedenko who lives in Vienna was a success in Austria’s Schuns, Vorarlberg, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Austria.
The concert was part of the events organized with the active participation of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vienna and the Russian-speaking cultural society MOST. The society located in Austria’s Vorarlberg is led by Belarusian citizen Olga Kachan.
Attending the events was counselor of the embassy Andrei Shuplyak who paid a visit to the cities of Schuns and Dornbirn. He made a greeting speech at the concert attended by representatives of the general public and cultural circles of Vorarlberg.
The Belarusian diplomat also took part in the annual meeting of the Russian diaspora of Vorarlberg in Dornbirn. The event was attended by numerous representatives of the Belarusian, Russian and Ukrainian diasporas that live in Vorarlberg as well as in the neighboring regions of Germany and Switzerland. The counselor of the embassy stressed in his speech the important of preserving folk rites and traditions and expressed readiness of the diplomatic mission to promote the relations with fellow nationals, provide them with necessary support.
While in Vorarlberg, Andrei Shuplyak held talks with member of the Dornbirn government Werner Posch and head of the MOST society Olga Kachan. The parties discussed cooperation prospects and the implementation of joint projects in the cultural and other areas, including with the participation of Belarusian nationals.
