ASHGABAT, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarusian and Turkmen specialists will conduct the first joint transplant surgery in May 2015. The framework agreement in the transplantation of organs and tissues was signed in Ashgabat, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin said as he summed up the results of the working visit of the Belarusian delegation to Turkmenistan, BelTA has learned.
The vice premier noted that during the visit the sides discussed cooperation in healthcare, sport, culture. For example, they discussed the delivery of medications, the establishment of joint pharmaceutical companies. An agreement in healthcare and pharmacology will be prepared by the end of the year.
Anatoly Kalinin mentioned vigorously developing scientific cooperation. He praised the results of joint efforts in agriculture, namely the growing of new plant hybrids, plant selection.
As far as the humanitarian cooperation is concerned, there are plans to hold an exposition of Belarusian educational achievements in Ashgabat in the near future. The capital of Turkmenistan will host the Days of Belarusian Culture in 2015.
