MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian national swimming team won four medals and set 13 national records at the 2015 European Short Course Swimming Championships which have recently completed in Netanya, Israel, BelTA informs.
On the final day of the competitions the Belarusian men’s 4x50 mixed relay of Pavel Sankovich, Ilya Shimanovich, Yevgeny Tsurkin and Anton Latkin claimed bronze in 1:33.21. Italy took gold with 1:31.70, while silver went to Russia with 1:32.17.
Earlier, Yevgeny Tsurkin clinched the 50m butterfly silver in 22.56. In the 4x50 freestyle Yevgeny Tsurkin, Anton Latkin, Viktor Staselovich and Artyom Machekin took bronze medals. Third was also the team of Pavel Sankovich, Ilya Shimanovich, Svetlana Khokhlova and Alexandra Gerasimenya in the 4x50 medley relay.
Belarus finished 15th in the overall standings with one silver and three bronze medals. Hungary topped the standings with 15 (11, 3, 1) medals.
