MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Pavel Sankovich of Belarus claimed bronze in the men’s 50m backstroke event at the FINA World Short Course (25m) Swimming Championships that completed in Windsor, Canada on 11 December.
The Belarusian swimmer clocked 23.03 seconds to touch third behind Junya Koga from Japan (22.85 seconds) and Jeremy Stravius from France (22.99).
The men’s 4x50m freestyle relay team of Evgeny Tsurkin, Anton Latkin, Viktor Staselovich and Artyom Machekin finished seventh with the time of 1:26.52. Russia clinched the champion title in 1:24.32. Evgeny Tsurkin failed to reach the men’s 50m butterfly final, coming in ninth (22.82 seconds) in the semifinal.
