MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – A Belarusian studies center will open at the Xian International Studies University, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing.
On 28 June Belarusian Ambassador to China Kirill Rudy visited the Xian International Studies University, the largest in China in the number of students studying the Russian language. With the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in China, the university will introduce a Belarusian language and culture course in September.
The diplomat met with the university’s rector Wang Junzhe. During the meeting the parties agreed to open a Belarusian studies center at the university. In addition, Kirill Rudy proposed to undertake activities to enhance cooperation in the run-up to the Year of Education. He also offered the university to send a delegation to Belarus to establish ties with institutions of higher education in Belarusian regions and to develop joint educational programs.
The ambassador delivered a lecture on the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation to the post-graduate students of the Russian language program.
