MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarusian modern pentathletes Irina Prosentsova and Kirill Kasyanik won the World Cup mixed relay in Cairo, BelTA has learned.
In fencing the Belarusian athletes Irina Prosentsova and Kirill Kasyanik scored 247 points to place first. The Belarusians did well in freestyle swimming and show jumping to start first in the final combined event of pistol shooting and a 3200m cross-country run. They held to their leading position to score a total of 1,431 points. Second were Myles Pillage and Jo Muir of the UK (1,403 points). Hungary placed third with 1,389 points.
The winners were awarded by President of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) Klaus Schormann, who took note of a strong modern pentathlon school in Belarus which is among the world’s best.
