MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – Belarusian pastry chefs have won 5 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 2 bronze medals at the Culinary World Cup 2018 Luxembourg. The medalists were celebrated by the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food on 3 January, BelTA has learned.
“It is very pleasant that Belarusians win medals at such international forums. Thank you for your work and your culinary masterpieces,” Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun said.
The Belarusian patissiers presented dishes made of chocolate, gum paste, pastillage, marzipan and dough. The gold medals of the Culinary World Cup were presented to Nadezhda Bogatenko (Vitebskklebprom), Natalia Minchenkova (Domochai), Lyudmila Pashkovskaya, Natalia Velentsevich, Svetlana Aleshkevich (Minskkhlebprom). Silver went to Natalia Sharai, Elena Akhartseva (Domochai), Natalia Sambuk, Marina Morozova (Orsha Bread Baking Plant), Elena Dedovets (Vitebskklebprom), Olga Romashko (Baranovichi Bread Baking Plant), and Nina Yakovchuk (Zhlobin Bread Baking Plant). Bronze went to Dmitry Antipenko (Gomelkhlebprom) and Ekaterina Marchik (Aromatik).
“We want our specialists to remain enthusiastic about their profession and to preserve this urge to create, so that they can keep flaunting Belarus’ baking industry at international contests,” Director General of Gomelkhlebprom Natalia Veromeyeva said.
About 600 pastry chefs from 50 countries took part in the contest. Their works were evaluated by experts from the World Association of Chefs Societies.
