MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Viacheslav Kozlovski from Belarus has won the prize for outstanding performance of Russian repertory at the International Grand Prix of Romania ”Trophaeum Artis Cantorum” in Bucharest, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Romania.
Viacheslav Kozlovski (baritone), a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers in Saint Petersburg, was recognized by the jury as the best performer of Russian repertory at the competition. The prize was awarded by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich who was invited to take part in the closing ceremony and the awards ceremony.
The competition aims to promote talented young opera singers. The organizers include the National University of Music Bucharest and the founders of the International Grand Prix of Romania.
In a conversation with the organizers, members of the jury and participants, Ambassador Andrei Grinkevich discussed the development of opera and theater art in Belarus and ways to step up Belarus-Romania cooperation. The ambassador also had a meeting with John Allison, a music critic and an editor on the Daily Telegraph, to discuss possible ways to promote talented Belarusian opera singers.
