Belarusian Music Seasons in France open with concert by Toloka group

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - The first Belarusian Music Seasons in France opened with a concert by the Toloka group from Vitebsk, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.

Ambassador of Belarus to France, Permanent Representative of Belarus to UNESCO Pavel Latushko welcomed the guests - representatives of the diplomatic corps, the French state institutions, and the Belarusian Diaspora. According to him, the Belarusian Music Seasons in France will feature classical and popular music performed by both professional and amateur groups.

The Toloka dance, music and song group of the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic Hall presented vocal and instrumental pieces featuring both Belarusian folklore and modern music dedicated to the rich traditions of the Belarusian musical art.

“The performing talent of the Belarusian artists captivated the audience. The artists got prolonged ovations after each piece and words of gratitude after the concert,” the embassy informed.

Toloka Art Director Nikolai Podolyak was awarded a letter of thanks from the Belarusian Embassy in France.

It was not the first success of the Vitebsk artists in France. On 17 April, they gave a concert in Lyon one of the oldest and famous historic and cultural centers of France.

Belarusian Music Seasons in France will continue with the concerts by famous Belarusian band Pesnyary, young talented pianist Vladislav Khandogy, the folk company of the Belarusian minority in Poland Primaki (Bialystok), the folk group Vlasteliny (Volkovysk) and other bands and performers.

The event was organized on the initiative and with the support of the Embassy of Belarus in France and Franco-Belarusian Association Life in Music.
