ISLAMABAD, 3 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian language and culture center has opened at the National University of Modern Languages of Pakistan, BelTA has learned.
According to Belarus’ Education Minister Mikhail Zhuravkov, the center will offer preparatory courses in the Russian and Belarusian languages. “Interest in the Belarusian educational system in Pakistan is big enough. The project to open the center involved a large number of students who are willing to come here, to get acquainted with our language. Our universities will send their professors. They will also inform the students about the universities and the majors they offer, and will provide more information about our country in general,” Mikhail Zhuravkov said.
The minister noted that Pakistan is ready to cooperate with Belarus in the field of education. During the forthcoming visit of the Belarus President to Pakistan we will sign a memorandum to open professional training centers here.
Pakistani young people show the biggest interest in college education (industrial and medical majors) and university education (medicine and IT). The Pakistani youth is also interested in fundamental research in mathematics, chemistry and physics.
