MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian Kupalye was celebrated in France for its third time, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus to France.
“Under the initiative of the Belarusian embassy, the celebrations of the Belarusian Kupalye were held in France for the third time. Partaking in the festivities were representatives of the Belarusian diaspora, the French community and the personnel of the embassy. The celebrations were held in a country estate of famous Belarusian painter Roman Zaslonov in the village of Blandy-les-Tours, not far from Paris,” the embassy said.
The celebrations featured the performance of the Belarusian music band Svalyanskaya Dusha led by Alexander Merkul. The music band consists of representatives of the Belarusian diaspora. Guests were treated to dishes of the Belarusian national cuisine.
Many of the participants wore Belarusian national costumes and Belarusian vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts). The festivities also included Kupalye rites and a wreath making master class.
