MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The fantasy folk project NEVRIDA led by Pavel Taipov placed first in the Best Music Video category at the 2nd edition of the Eurasian Creative Guild Film Festival that was held in the United Kingdom on 13-19 August, BelTA learned from the organizers of the festival.

“We are very happy that our composition Tugan Yak was played in London. In the music video, we depicted three cultures to show that all nations have something in common – love for their native land – and that music unites,” Pavel Taipov said.

The organizers of the festival decided against holding this year’s festival online. The ECG Film Festival featured participants from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Italy, Russia, the UK, Israel, the USA, Qatar, Sweden, Germany, Iran, Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Canada, and Finland. The viewers watched over 200 works in the English language competing in such categories as documentary, feature film, short feature film, animated film, book trailer, music video, and screenplay. By the way, the film about the life of Jozefa Bujdo in Belarus by British film director Michael Sagatis was named best short feature film.

The festival also featured discussions about the important matters of the animation industry and an online showcase of the competition’s diary in social networks. In addition, the program of the event included an art exhibition of works by Olesea Shibaeva (Moldova), Larisa Pak (Kyrgyzstan), Kuralai Amanzholova (Kazakhstan), and Igor Gushchin (Russia).

The Eurasian Creative Guild Film Festival is one of the few film festivals in the world that aims to promote Eurasian cinema in the English-speaking space. The festival is held within the framework of the prestigious festival Romford Film Festival that was founded by British filmmakers Joe Sultana and Spencer Hawken together with the Eurasian Creative Guild under the leadership of John Farndon and Marat Akhmedjanov.
