MOSCOW, 30 May (BelTA) -In the run-up to the International Children's Day the Embassy of Belarus in Russia hosted 18 children from the family-type children;s homes and boarding schools of Minsk Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast. The children were accompanied by officials of the education departments, the Belarusian Children's Fund and parents-tutors, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.
The guests got a chance to tour the historic building of the embassy and also the business and cultural center that is hosting an exhibition of children's drawings “I Discover Belarus”. The children received gifts from the BelAZ Trading House.
The young Belarusians also went to see the Red Square, the Military History Museum and other sights of the Russian capital.
On 1 June, the International Children’s Day, the Belarusian kids will attend the annual events conducted by the Russian Children's Fund. The State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia will show the Story of Kai and Gerda for several thousand orphans, disadvantaged kids and disabled persons from the regions of Russia and other CIS countries.
