MOSCOW, 30 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Education Days kicked off at the Business and Cultural Complex of the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow on 29 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.
Taking part in the two-day event are heads of leading universities from Belarus and Russia, representatives of the Education Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, regional universities, embassies of foreign states accredited in Moscow.
“The embassy regularly holds various presentations of economic, cultural, tourist and medical opportunities of Belarus and its regions. Such presentations are of great interest to Russian partners representing various fields of expertise, as well as diplomats of third countries working in Moscow. We will keep introducing our friends and partners to cooperation proposals across various fields. Today we will discuss Belarusian education, which is one of the best in post-Soviet space and has a high standing in the world,” Chargй d'Affaires of Belarus in Russia Vadim Senyuta said as he opened the Belarusian Education Days.
The diplomat recalled that humanitarian contacts were in focus of the February meeting of the presidents of Belarus and Russia. The presidents discussed educational partnerships and gave instructions to harmonize educational and scientific standards and youth programs. That meeting was followed by a joint board meeting of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus. The parties discussed objectives and priorities of the Union State for the period till 2022 in the field of education and youth policy.
