Belarusian Dozhynki in Italy at Expo Milano 2015

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Dozhynki in Italy will open the program of Belarus’ National Day at the Expo Milano 2015 on 9 September, BelTA learnt from the directorate of Belarus’ national pavilion at the Expo 2015.

The time to hold Belarus’ National Day at the Italian exhibition coincides with the completion of harvest works and the celebration of the Dozhynki festival. Taking into account the motto of the Expo Milano 2015 Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life and the wish of its organizers to include the maximum of folk music, national rites and feasts into the cultural program, Belarus will open its National Day at the Expo Milano 2015 with the Belarusian Dozhynki in Italy program.

It is expected that the opening of Belarus’ National Day at the Expo Center will be visited by the Belarusian governmental delegation and the general commissioner of the exhibition.

Apart from that, Belarus' National Day will comprise business meetings and the panel discussion “Belarus: European Partner – Eurasian Market” at the Milan Stock Exchange. Belarus’ National Day will also feature an exhibition of Belarusian food products and dishes of the Belarusian national cuisine. The Day will be wrapped up with a gala concert, Belarus Invites.

According to the directorate of the national pavilion, the Belarusian pavilion that occupies more than 1,000 square meters, makes it into the top ten national pavilions in Milan.

Expo Milano, also known as the Universal Exposition, is the biggest international platform to demonstrate technical and technological solutions. It was held in 1851 for the first time.

The Expo Milano 2015 will stay open through 31 October. Partaking in the expo are 145 countries. The total area of exposition pavilions exceeds 1.7 million square meters.
