MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Ded Moroz [Grandfather Frost] is the most popular Grandfather Frost in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Georgia, BelTA learned from the tourism website TurStat.
The top ten winter wizards of the CIS states, which are popular with tourists and locals, also include Ayaz Ata in Kazakhstan, Saxta Baba in Azerbaijan, Gaghant Baba in Armenia, Qor Bobo in Uzbekistan, Mos Craciun in Moldova, Ayaz Ata in Kyrgyzstan, Boboi Barfi in Tajikistan, Ayaz Baba in Turkmenistan, and Tovlis Papa in Georgia.
The chart was compiled as a result of analyzing the popularity of the residences of the fictional characters.
The Belarusian Grandfather Frost welcomes guests in his residence in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The residence is the most famous tourist brand of the country. It welcomes about 150,000 visitors every year. The residence occupies nearly 15ha. Apart from Grandfather Frost the place has the palace of Snegurochka [Snow Maiden], the Magic Mill, the Meadow of Twelve Months, and a parkway of oriental calendar signs.
