MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Artists of the Belarusian State Circus became winners of the international circus festival Golden Karl 2015 in Riga, Deputy Director of the Belarusian State Circus Olga Bosyakova told journalists on 30 January, BelTA has learned.
The fifth edition of the festival was held from 23 to 26 January. The competition program featured several performances by Belarusian circus artists, and two of them won prizes. Nineteen-year-old Anastasia Yevkhimenko was awarded the first prize for her show Hula Hoops on Horseback and Alena Chukhnova got the second prize for the performance Lady Bird. Anastasia Yevkhimenko also got the Audience Choice Award.
All in all, more than 50 performances of different genres were presented to the international jury. Partaking in the competition program of the festival were representatives of 15 countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Mexico, and the USA.
