MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – A park to highlight what Belarusian-Chinese friendship has achieved was opened in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone as part of the celebration of China-Belarus Industrial Park Day on 11 May, BelTA has learned.
Kirill Koroteyev, First Deputy Director General of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company, said: “As many as 400 trees, including 230 apple trees, have already been planted. The fact that most of the trees bear fruit is symbolical. The fruits can be viewed as fruits of our Chinese-Belarusian cooperation.”
In his words, the park is part of the work to make the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone more ecofriendly. Some shrubs have also been planted. “We have plans for green zones. The park will be one of them. It is part of the special green strip, which separates the manufacturing area from administrative buildings. By the way, we started planting trees here together with our Chinese colleagues during the national cleanup day,” said Kirill Koroteyev.
The money to plant the trees has been allocated by the China Merchants Charitable Foundation.
Hu Zheng, member of the Board of Directors of China Merchants Group, explained that planting a park of 400 trees is only the first part of the project. “Another 400 trees will be planted here in the future. We will pay close attention to environmental matters. Preserving and protecting green zones is one of the principles guiding the construction of our park,” he stressed.
Plaques of eleven new resident companies were solemnly unveiled as part of the celebration of China-Belarus Industrial Park Day. Apart from that, awards were bestowed upon the first three companies to commission their manufacturing enterprises. Those are the Chinese-Belarusian trade and logistics subpark, OOO CETC China Electronic Technology, and OOO Levanta Group. A Chinese-Belarusian design institute was also opened on 11 May. A photo exhibition to showcase Chinese enterprises in Belarus took place. A bicycle tour of the park’s territory was also arranged.
