MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The exposition of Belarusian books is on show at the 61st international book fair in the Serbian capital Belgrade, BelTA learnt from the Information Ministry.
Opening the Belarusian stand on 23 October, Information Minister Lilia Ananich told the visitors about Belarus’ achievements in the book publishing industry.
Serbia knows and loves Belarus. Dozens of people, while getting familiar with the Belarusian book, remember Belarus’ political and moral support of Serbia, the visits of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Belgrade, the strong Belarusian-Serbian friendship.
The Belarusians about Serbia/Yugoslavia book presented at the national stand testified to the friendship between the two nations. The book, published with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Serbia, includes works of Belarusian authors and starts with Maksim Bogdanovich’s poems.
On the first day of the exhibition the national stand hosted a presentation of a special issue of the Litaratura I Mastatstva newspaper dedicated to the Belarusian-Serbian inter-literary cooperation. Belarusian participants told the visitors about the book “Francysk Skaryna in Languages of the World”, which includes the translation of the famous work of the first printer alongside other translations.
The Belarusian delegation is expected to hold more meetings in other parts of Belgrade.
The 61st international book fair in Belgrade is running on 23-25 October. The forum has gathered guests and participants from numerous countries. Iran is the Guest of Honor at the book fair this year.
