MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) - The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater will bring its production Vitaut to Moscow, Belarus’ First Deputy Culture Minister Irina Driga told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
The play, which tells about the formation of the Belarusian nation, the struggle between the principalities, and the politics in the 14-15th centuries, will be shown at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia at the end of June. The ballet has been included in the program of the Days of Belarusian Culture in Russia. Preparations are already underway for such a cultural visit, said Irina Driga.
The so-called Belarusian seasons are timed to coincide with the Days of Culture. They will be hosted by the Business and Cultural Center of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia in June. They will show the plays by the Grodky National Academic Drama Theater and the Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama.
The Business and Cultural Center regularly hosts performances of Belarusian theaters, Irina Driga noted. The performance The One Who Has the Last Laugh dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Kondrat Krapiva by the Theater-Studio of Movie Actors was a great success with the Moscow audience. The theater got an invitation to bring Vladimir Gostyukhin’s Anna Snegina production.
Russian theater companies are also frequent guests in Belarus. They are regular participants of the Belarusian theater festivals. Last year the culture ministries of the two friendly countries prolonged the agreement on cooperation for 2015-2017, which contributes to the exchange of tours.
