MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won three medals at the 2019 FIG Acro World Cup in Maia, Portugal, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.
Artur Belyakov and Olga Melnik scored a total of 29,560 points to take silver in mixed pairs. Russia’s Kirill Startsev and Victoria Aksenova took gold with a total of 29,940 points.
The Belarusian tandem of Artyom Yashchenko and Aleksei Zayats finished third in the men’s pairs (28,690 points). Gold went to Timofei Ivanov and Maksim Karavayev from Russia (29,490 points). Michael Kraft and Tim Sebastian from Germany won silver with 28,880 points.
Yulia vonchik, Veronika Nabokina and Karina Sandovich claimed bronze in the women’s team event, scoring a total of 29,000 points. The Russian team of Darya Chebulyanko, Anastasia Parshina and Kseniya Zagoskina took gold with a total of 30,200 points. The Belarusian team of Sofia Belmach, Darya Nemarskaya and Angelina Tyukha finished fourth with a total of 28,860 points.
The second FIG Acro World Cup will take place in Las Vegas, the United States on 22-24 March.
Sports acrobatics make part of the 2nd European Games in Minsk. Six medal events in sports acrobatics will be held at Minsk Arena on 22-23 June. Belarusian acrobats Ekaterina borisevich, Veronika Nabokina and Karina Sandovich won three bronze medals at the 1st European Games in Baku.
